Forest Park is a large public park located in St. Louis, Missouri. There are almost 1,400 acres at Forest Park, which means that there are plenty of things for you to do here.

People from all over the United States and the world make a trip to the city of St. Louis to visit Forest Park. Forest Park receives over 12,000,000 visitors each year, with over 40% of its yearly visitors being from tourists.

It is an area that I like to visit often, and I try to make at least one trip a month to Forest Park. It is a great place to have fun and to enjoy yourself.

Here's a little history about Forest Park.

Forest Park opened in 1876 and has hosted many activities and events such as the 1904 Summer Olympics, the 1904 World's Fair, the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, and more.

What is there to do at Forest Park?

The question here should actually be "what is there NOT to do at Forest Park?" There are so many things for you and your family to do, so you will not be bored regardless of the weather, the season, and more. Also, St. Louis is known in the United States as offering many free things for people to do, so it can be an affordable trip for you and your family.

The St. Louis Zoo - This zoo is one of the top zoos in the United States and entry is free. There are not many zoos in the United States that can say that.

The Saint Louis Art Museum - The Saint Louis Art Museum received over 500,000 visitors each year and is free to enter.

The Missouri History Museum - This history museum was started in 1866 and is free to enter.

The St. Louis Science Center - This science center opened in 1963 and is one of the largest in the United States. It is also one of the top science centers in the United States.

The Boathouse - The Boathouse is a fun place to visit. You can eat here (the food is great!) and also rent boats here. I love renting their paddle boats (it is affordable) and paddling through the many ponds located in Forest Park. They also have dog days where you can bring your dog to dine with you.

The Muny - This is an outdoor theater located in Forest Park and was created in the year 1916. There are 11,000 seats here and 1,500 seats are free for each show. The Muny is a beautiful place, my college graduation was held here and it was packed!

Steinberg Skating Rink - Steinberg Skating Rink has been open since 1957 and is an outdoor skating rink that is open in the Winter. It is a fun place to visit during the Winter months with your significant other (so romantic), your family, your friends, and more.

The World's Fair Pavilion - The World's Fair Pavilion was a gift from the Louisiana Purchase Exposition and was opened in the year 1910. There are events such as weddings held here.

The actual park - The park area here in Forest Park is beautiful. It is so beautiful that we took our engagement photos at the park, and we also wanted to have our wedding here as well. The landscaping here is beautiful - there are numerous ponds, lakes, trees, and more. We also like to ride our bikes on the bike trail, which is a little less than 6 miles long. However, it can be a tiring one, as there are many large hills.

There is also a golf course, tennis courts, a horticultural facility, water fountains, statues, and more for you to enjoy.

Have you ever visited Forest Park?

I had such a great time at Forest Park when I visited! I couldn't believe all the free museums. Had a lovely lunch there, too.
