There not that many places throughout the beautiful country of the United States of America that have as many historical attractions and beautiful sites that you can experience in Washington DC. By making the decision to visit this nation’s capital, you are also making the decision to surround yourself with historical monuments, museums and other sites that have been put in place for hundreds of years.

Even though it may not have as many exciting and fun attractions as other cities throughout the country, the odds of you being able to find another area that can provide you such a memorable experience that you will never want to forget! What are some of the many things that you can do while you are in Washington DC?

Experience the Museums

If you are interested in exploring some of the best museums in the country, then you have come to the right place. The Smithsonian Institution Building is overflowing with national treasures that cover a wide variety of areas such as art and space exploration all within the same four walls. There may be some exhibits that you have seen before in the past but you will more than likely be able to see at least one exhibit that will blow you away. The Natural History Museum, the Spy Museum and even the National Air and Space Museum are all great places that you want to include on your to-do list as well.

Stand in Front of the Historical Monuments

Before you leave Washington DC, you need to make sure that you take the time to visit the historical monuments that have been built and put in place within the nation’s capital – some of which have been there for hundreds of years. Seeing them in the day is fine, but you should wait until the sun goes down and these monuments are all illuminated because that just seems to enhance the overall experience of being able to stand in front of those historical statues that you may have only seen before in the pages of your history textbook or on your television screen. There is just so much that you can do and experience in Washington DC!
