When looking for attractions and sightseeing in NYC, there is an endless variety of choices to pick from. New York is a city that is full of many different tourist attractions, historical landmarks, museums, restaurants, libraries, and many other places to visit and things to do. It is very difficult to be without things to do when touring New York City. One of the more prominent attractions in New York City is the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum. The Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum is located on the west side of the Hudson River in Manhattan. The museum specializes in military aircraft exhibitions. Within the museum are the Enterprise Space Shuttle, the aircraft carrier, a Growler Submarine, and offers guests a chance to try out a flight simulator. There are many fun and educational things to do within the museum.

The museum first opened in 1982 and up to now has had over ten million visitors, both New York natives and visitors from around the country and world. The main attraction of the museum is the Intrepid, a historic landmark and one of the most successful aircrafts in history. The Intrepid is a famous aircraft that served in World War II. It is now one of the most visited attractions and sightseeing in New York City. It has participated in three tours of duty in Vietnam, and served as submarine surveillance during the Cold War. It was also a primary recovery vessel for NASA. Now the ship serves as an educational monument and represents the many people who served during past wars.

The museum has a massive collection of planes, which includes a World War II Avenger torpedo bomber, an F-14 Tomcat, an A-12 Blackbird spy plane, and a plethora of other aircrafts. It also holds a Concord jet, which flew across the Atlantic in as little as three hours.

There are also other things such as uniforms of soldiers of past wars, and their personal items as well. There are numerous interactive exhibits. NASA also decided to send surviving space shuttles to be featured in the museum. The Space Shuttle Enterprise was one of those shuttles. The navigation bridge is another one of the must visit sights in the museum.
